Strath Haven Varsity Ultimate Frisbee beat Science Leadership Academy 15-8 after junior Andrew Mennig completed 5 assists and senior Eric Wang scored 3 points on their senior night.
The weather conditions were not ideal, with 15 mph winds and 28 mph gusts.
“Working it down the field, throwing quick unders, and working out between our handlers was definitely our best bet. The deep shots were not on today [due to the wind],” Mennig said.
A lot went well for the Frisbee team, but the teamwork was what led to the win.
“Our teamwork this year has been impeccable,” Wang said. “We communicated very well. We were just insane as a team.”
Although Haven pulled off the win, the team was not at its best.
“We played subpar, but we won on senior night,” senior Nadir Tinsley said.
Haven Ultimate will be playing in the State Championship Tournament on May 25 and 26 in Allentown, Pennsylvania.
