On April 25, Haven’s Student Council hosted its annual Spring Fling event on the blacktop outside the middle school.
Attendees had the opportunity to purchase delicious baked goods and participate in student-run activities such as inflatable bobbing for apples and a dunk tank, among others.
One fan favorite was live music, made possible by student performers.
“We have good food, we have activities, all those types of things. It’s just a great place to be,” senior Ella Liberi, Student Council president, said.
For seniors, this is one of their last chances to get together as a class before they head off into the next chapters of their lives.
“I think that it is a great kind of last sendoff for the senior class, and I really hope everyone is here,” Liberi said.
A highlight of Spring Fling is the club fundraising. Many clubs, including Red Cross, Feminism Club, Green Haven, Jabberwocky, and others sold fun treats or ran artistic activities.
Freshman Abbey Minton was one of the student representatives for Jabberwocky.
“Jabberwocky is just such a nice community of people to be around, and I love being able to meet up with my friends and make art together,” Minton said.
These clubs all put effort into coming up with ways to publicize what they do at this event.
“We prepared for probably a month. We’ve been thinking about it for a long time, and I’m really happy with what we settled with,” Minton said.
Many students expressed delight in the fact that it was such a warm and sunny day, especially after the rainy weather during last year’s event.
“Everybody is just so happy to be here,” Minton said. “It’s a wonderful day outside.”
Spring Fling turned out to be a positive experience where students got to come together and have fun as a school.
“I think the coolest part has been the turnout and all the people that we get to see. It’s so good to interact with everyone. I will definitely be back next year,” freshman Kyubi Suico said.
